God Lives inside Everyone

Once upon a time there lived two Saints. Both of them were devotees of Deity Vayu or the Wind. One day when they were about to have their lunch, a young man with severe hunger approached them for some alms.

The saints replied, “Sorry boy, this is not the appropriate time”. The young man being habitual to such treatments but a bit wondered he is hearing this kind of reply from the saints. So gaining little courage he further asked the saints, “Respected Guruji, may I know which deity you do worship?”

The saint replied patiently replied “Our deity is Vayu, wind which is also known as Prana”.

The young man added, “Then you know that Prana pass through every creature of this world”.

The Saint replied, “Yes, absolutely you are right”.

The young man again asked, “The food kept before you is prepared for whom?”

The Saints replied, “For the deity we worship, that is Vayu”.

The young man replied, “If Prana passes through every creature of this universe, he pervades inside me also. It is the Vayu or Prana he who pulsates the hungry in my body who is before you and begging for a little food!”

“Yes, you are true”, replied the Saints.

The young man said, “Respectable Guruji, by refusing food to me you are refusing food to the Deity, Vayu or Prana inside me, for whom this food has been prepared!”

The Saints were ashamed to hear this from that young man. They invited the young man with due respect and served him the food very kindly. They now understood that so far they were infatuated with the form while it was the spirit inside the human being which is significant.
