Bhairavashtami is celebrated
by being vigil throughout the night with due prayers and chanting of Kal
Bhairav mantra during the midnight
with Dhoop & Diya and Arti to Kal Bhairav.
In the morning after shower
must offer oblations (offerings) to ancestors. Then worship Kal Bhairav’s
Vahana, dog, with flowers and feed sweets, milk, curd and other foods. In case
the Bhairavashtami is on Sunday then it is considered very auspicious.
Kal Bhairav is worshipped to
achieve success, to get unexpected treasure, to recover from illness, to get
rid of every kind of sins and curses, to come out of death fear on the day of
Bhairavashtami.
Fasting on Bhairavashtami.
The person fasting on
Bhairavashtami attains every kind of contentment and affluence and every kind
of desire would be fulfilled. The Supreme Lord like Lord Vigneshwar, Lord Vishnu,
Lord Yam Raj, Lord Kubera and Planet Moon have worshipped Kal Bhairav. After
fasting on Bhairavashtami only Lord Vishnu could marry Goddess Laxmi. Many kings
became emperors. By fasting on Bhairavashtami every kind of sins and curses
would be eradicated and can enjoys trouble free life in this birth and as well
as in the next birth also. It is auspicious to wear one black thread around
neck after completing Kal Bhairav worship on the day of Bhairavashtami which
would protect us from the malefic effects of black magic and evil eye effects.
Bhairavashtami falls on the
Krishna Paksha Ashtami of Margsheersha month according to hindu panchang.
